Eligibility
Who Can Apply
The Index is a curated directory created to spotlight women-owned businesses and organizations across Northeast Ohio. Our goal is to help people shop intentionally, support local, and discover the women building meaningful ventures in our communities.
We proudly welcome microbusinesses, small businesses, newly launched ventures, and nonprofits. To be featured in The Index, applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Be women-owned and actively led
- Be based in or primarily serve Northeast Ohio
- Be currently active and open for business, bookings, sales, or community engagement
- Clearly communicate their product, service, or mission
- Maintain a public-facing presence, such as a website, social media page, online shop, booking page, or Google Business profile
- Have an official legal or organizational structure, such as an LLC, sole proprietorship, DBA, corporation, or nonprofit designation such as 501(c)(3)
- Operate with honesty, professionalism, and integrity
- Align with the community-centered values of The Index
We believe emerging businesses deserve visibility too. That's why we welcome businesses that are still growing, as long as they are active, credible, and formally established.
To protect the integrity of the directory, The Index reserves the right to approve, deny, or remove listings at its discretion.
